Self-Paced Online
Self-Paced Courses can be taken on their own or in combination to earn any one of the nationally recognized designations provided by the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance. Some working knowledge of the applicable policies is required. Providing ultimate flexibility, efficiency, and a low-pressure way to earn continuing education at your own pace. Self-Paced Course can be completed within 60 days on any mobile device.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ONLINE SELF-PACED COURSES
The proctored final exam is required for state CE credit toward license renewal. The proctored final exam is also required for credit to achieve the CISR, CISR Elite or CSRM designations. (A digital exam affidavit will be presented for your proctor to fill out at exam login.) If you are a current CISR, CISR Elite or CSRM and you wish only to complete your annual education update, you must complete all of the course self quizzes and the review test.
Exam Proctoring Requirements
In accordance with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, we invite all registrants to advise us of any disability relevant to completing the course.
ADA Information
The Risk & Insurance Education Alliance considers participant information to be personal and confidential. Student information will not be shared, sold or distributed to any third party.
- To obtain a full refund, cancellations must be received within 24 hours of the registration date. Refund will be void if the review test or final exam has been taken.
- Transfers or substitutions must be received within five business days of the registration date. After five business days, a $25 fee will apply. Transfers or substitutions will not be permitted if the review test or final exam has been taken.
- A $25 fee for a one-time extension of 14 days if requested within 14 days following the expiration date.
- A fee of $25 will be charged for returned checks.
If you register for a particular course and pay the course fee, but do not or cannot attend the course for which registered on the date(s) scheduled for the course, and receive a credit in your account for the amount of the course fee paid and that credit shall remain for 24 months from the date of your original registration. No refund of the course fee paid will be made. You may, however, use the credit by applying it to the course fee for the same or a different course at another date, provided you do so within 24 months of the date of your original registration. After 24 months from the date of your original registration, the credit will be forfeited and may not be applied to another course.
NEW CIC COMMERCIAL MULTILINE SELF-PACED INFORMATION
To access the 5 separate courses that are included in the CIC Commercial Multiline program, follow these steps:
1. Log into your PROfile with the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance at https://pro.scic.com/SignIn
2. Next, select “My Courses” tab on the left side of the PROfile homepage.
3. Next, select “Course History” under My Courses tab
4. Your courses will be listed under “Course History.”
5. To open and begin each course, select the blue button, “Launch Learning Portal.”
Your access to this course will expire 120 days after the date that you registered for the course.
Continuing Education
To request or decline Continuing Education credit for this course, log into your PROfile with the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance at https://pro.scic.com/SignIn. Once logged in,
follow these steps:
1. Click on the “My Courses” tab on the left side of the PROfile homepage.
2. Next, select the “Request/Decline CE” button next to the corresponding course record.
3. In the pop-up window that appears, input your license information and submit the request.
Note: You must request CE BEFORE attempting the Final Exam for the course.
You must achieve a score of 70% or above to earn Continuing Education credit for this course. The Final Exam varies from 30-50 multiple-choice assessment questions at the end of the course. All examinees are granted 2 attempts for the final exam. There is a time limit of 40-65 minutes for each corresponding final exam.
All Final Examinations require a proctor and affidavit. A digital affidavit for the exam will be available for you and your proctor to fill out when you launch the exam. Proctor requirements are outlined in the “Final Exam Instructions” page of this course.
To earn the CIC designation, you must complete five of the seven CIC course offerings.

**The five topics included in the CIC Commercial Multiline courses include:
- Commercial Inland Marine Concepts and Coverage
- Employment Practices Liability Insurance
- Crime Coverages and Endorsements
- Cyber Exposures and Coverage
- Commercial Excess/Umbrella Coverages
You must earn a 70% or higher score on the Review Tests for each of the five topics to be eligible to take the Commercial Multiline designation exam. Once this is achieved, the exam will appear in your learning portal.
You will have 30 days to complete this proctor-monitored exam upon enrollment. This is a short answer assessment with 20 multi-part questions. You are only allowed 1 attempt at this exam. There is a time limit of 120 minutes.
