Environmental issues go beyond nuclear disasters, hurricanes, or floods, and they impact the bottom line of every business. Despite this fact, many businesses are still unaware of how environmental issues impact their day-to-day operations. The Certified Environmental Strategist (CeS) self-paced course, created by Chris Bunbury, Environmental Strategist and President of Environmental Strategist, Inc., educates insurance professionals/risk managers about how to coach clients to manage and transfer their environmental exposures.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. What’s in the course?

Environmental Insurance 101

In today’s business environment, for businesses to remain successful, they must learn to identify and manage their environmental exposures.

Think of this as Environmental Insurance 101. With a CeS certification, agents can coach businesses to better protect themselves, human health, and the environment.

Pollution Exposures and Coverages

Agents must first understand what a pollutant is before they can coach their clients to manage and transfer their environmental exposures. A CeS defines a pollutant as a material, substance, liquid, or product which is introduced into the environment for other than its intended use or purpose: in other words, something that ends up where it does not belong. Fresh water, cheese, fruit juice, and milk have all been classified as pollutants in past claims.

Environmental Marketing Strategies

The CeS coaches you how to use environmental strategies and insurance to uncover coverage gaps and use niche insurance knowledge to incorporate your agency’s insurance products.

2. How is this course taken?

Online and Self-Paced

The self-paced course is broken up into a series of 10-to-15-minute training videos accompanied by questions that test your understanding of the material.

The course instructor, Chris Bunbury, shares a wealth of technical environmental insurance knowledge enriched with over three decades of real-life experiences from Environmental Risk Managers, Inc.

Over 2 Months

The online course is taken at your own pace and can be completed over 60 days. Participants receive a 100-page training manual that they can use with the course and as a study guide for the final exam.

3. Who should take this course?

The CeS course is perfect for ambitious account managers, producers, underwriters, or anyone new to the insurance industry as well as risk managers, attorneys, bankers, accountants, environmental engineers, and realtors.

4. How does this program benefit you?

CE Credit Approved in 49 States

Upon passing the final exam, participants receive four hours of continuing education credits applicable for license renewal.

They will also be able to use the knowledge learned to promote their ability to assist businesses in addressing the environmental exposures that impact their operations.

5. 30 years of Environmental Insurance
knowledge in one 4-hour course
