Empowering Students Potential.
We believe in empowering students to own their potential. While uncertainty about the next steps after high school is natural, every student should feel confident in their potential to succeed.
The Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) High School Program offers a comprehensive approach to career exploration through education, engagement with risk and insurance professionals for skill development, enhanced learning, internships and full-time positions, and exposure to the next steps in career progression.
Careers in the risk and insurance industry are in high demand. They offer stability and numerous opportunities for growth. Competitive salaries and attractive benefits reflect the critical role these professionals play in safeguarding financial assets and managing risk.
The flexibility of the CISR High School Program ensures that every student can find a path that aligns with their career aspirations and goals and their post-secondary strategy, whether they choose to enter the workforce directly from high school, attend junior or community college, or pursue further education at four-year institutions.
Our programs are designed to prepare students for rewarding careers in risk and insurance, a sector of the financial services industry and a critical component of the economy.
Through the CISR High School program, students gain comprehensive industry training, enabling them to analyze insurance risks, policy forms, and claims data. This specialized knowledge opens doors to various career opportunities in personal lines, commercial lines, and life and health insurance sectors. Students can pursue roles as agents, brokers, claims professionals, consultants, sales and marketing specialists, actuaries, and IT professionals.

Adaptable for State-Specific Requirements
In addition to the five modules required for the CISR designation, the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance uses its extensive education library to meet state-specific requirements for Career and Technical (CTE) Pathways, Career Clusters, or other competency-based education standards for insurance.
The Risk & Insurance Education Alliance also works with state education agencies and workforce development departments to obtain approval for the CISR designation as a recognized credential or certification.
For example, in Texas the CISR designation is an approved Industry-Based Certification for Public School Accountability and also meets the Texas Education Agency requirements for the Insurance Operations Course in the Business, Marketing and Finance Program of Study.
